Jackie Jesko’s Promo Tour
Styled for Tribeca Film Festival, Good Morning America, The View, and more
When Director Jackie Jesko was promoting her feature documentary, Barbara Walters: Tell Me Everything for HULU & Disney+, she came to me for a comprehensive set of looks for her festival and press appearances. Here’s what she shared about our work together:
“Rachel is a godsend! We were connected through mutual friends when I was preparing for a major press push during Tribeca Film Festival—including a red carpet premiere and several TV appearances. I wanted to do something special in homage to the film’s subject, Barbara Walters, but had no idea where to begin. Rachel and I met for coffee, and as soon as she started talking about her passion for vintage clothing and her relationships with the best stores in the city, I was sold. It had not occurred to me to hire a stylist before hearing about Rachel's venture, but working with her was the smartest thing I did during that hectic time.
Over the following weeks, Rachel and I were in almost constant contact. She arranged a private fitting at an amazing vintage shop in Williamsburg, where the team pulled an incredible range of pieces from different decades. Once we settled on the perfect look, she sent me a curated spreadsheet of potential shoes to buy and even set me up with her favorite tailor. During the whirlwind week of press, she created daily lookbooks that matched up clothing pieces, jewelry, shoes and accessories, making it incredibly simple to get ready each day. She even set me up with her favorite hair stylist and sourced a talented makeup artist!
I was so happy with how everything turned out, especially the vintage Thierry Mugler skirt suit look that her vintage partner, alexandra blair, pulled for me. It was reassuring to work with a stylist who understands the norms and nuances of film festival fashion, and Rachel made it so easy. She's calm, creative, generous, and genuinely invested in helping filmmakers have fun with fashion-- which is so nice in a field that is often serious and dark. I would heartily recommend Rachel to anyone looking to to level up their style!”
